Using cameras to control applications

The project investigates new interfaces for human-machine interaction. We have shown that it is possible to produce varied programs that are controlled using a camera.


Application examples

CamBrowser
An example where Internet Explorer and Microsoft PowerPoint is being controlled. The buttons can be controller from the camera. This application is called Cambrowser.

Cambounce
Here is an example of a two player game using one camera. It is a variant of the Pong game. One player on each side of the screen can move the pads up and down to keep the green ball moving.

Sonicmirror
Implementation of a musical instrument. This application reads the pictures for changes and plays tones based on happenings. Two tones can be played simultaneously and pitch and intensity can be controlled in an intuitive way.
